Name: Sweet Chestnut

Scientific Name: Castanea sativa

Leaves: oblong and toothed with a pointed tip, and feature around 20 pairs of prominent parallel veins.

Hint: The Chesnutt features are smooth, glossy, dark-brown outer shell.

Fact: Romans crushed sweet chestnuts into flour or for a coarse meal.

Where you will find it: It can be found in the park.
