Get Wet at Hadleigh Park this Summer

Hadleigh Park Reservoir has re-opened this Spring 2018. 

We will be offering scheduled activities throughout the summer including kayaking, stand up paddle-boarding and open water swimming!

Open Water Swimming

We are proud to announce that Hadleigh Park is working in partnership with Great Swim and Tri Farm to be a host venue for Great Swim Local  throughout May – September. Come and swim our 380m swim course safe in the knowledge that you will be supervised by our qualified lifeguards. Hot showers and changing facilities are provided.

Swimmers are required to wear a wetsuit. Swimmers must be 12 years and over and all juniors accompanied by an adult swimmer at all times.  Swimmers must be registered on GSL website prior to swim session.

Swimming times:

Wednesday’s  5pm – 7pm

Saturday’s  8am -10am

Kayaking

Hadleigh Park Reservoir has a selection of double and single kayaks available for hire.

Kayaking using our Sit on top kayaks is a fun, aerobic activity suitable for all ages and abilities. (Water users must be aged 6+)

Kayak’s are available for individual hire here.

 

Stand up paddleboarding   Paddle boarding

Hadleigh Park is offering exclusive adults only stand up paddleboarding (SUP) sessions weekly throughout the summer. SUP is one of the UK’s fast growing watersports and with most participants able to pick up the basic moves in just one  beginner session!

SUP Sessions

Stand Up Paddleboarding activities are designed for complete beginners. During the sessions our qualified BSUPA instructor Anni will guide you through the basic skills required.  Learn in a fun and social environment! Paddleboarding is a low impact sport great for developing core strength balance and coordination and suitable for all levels of fitness and agility.

Here at Hadleigh Park there are a range of session types available.

Weekday Sessions 

Beginners will be taken through the basics with a 3 hour Ready to Ride course!

For complete Beginners – a 3 hour beginner course with our experienced qualified instructors taking you through the basics of Paddleboarding including safety information, skills and techniques to complete a Ready to Ride Certificate!

This is an adult event, but children aged 12 and over can participate if accompanied in the water with a full paying adult, both places must be booked together.

Participants must also be able to swim 25m fully clothed. All equipment and buoyancy aids are supplied.

Opportunities

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July - British Cycling National Championships Due to the event taking place this weekend, there will be no access to the Red, Blue and Black trails over the whole weekend - For more information check out our Facebook page
