Name: Luke Farey
Years Riding: 20
Qualifications: CTC Trail Mountain Bike Leader, CTC Mountain Bike Skills Instructor and Accredited Go MTB Provider/Centre
Countries visited for riding: Spain, France and Thailand

I first started riding a mountain bike in my early twenties around the local woods and trails, mainly in and around the Hadleigh Country Park area.  This hobby has taken me around the country to various trail centres and natural trails; as well as riding abroad with my current favourite place being the Sierra Nevada region of Spain.

In 2010 I decided to become a coach and trail leader to encourage more people into this great sport.  I’ve now been coaching for nearly 5 years, which has taken me all over the country with my portable North Shore track and fleet of bikes, as well as at Hadleigh Park.1

When it was announced that Hadleigh were to host the Olympics I was obviously delighted.  I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in coaching at Hadleigh Park since early 2013 and have witnessed how it’s developed into the fantastic venue that it is today.

I’ve worked with both primary and secondary schools, directly and through Active Essex. I also worked closely with students from Cornelious Vermuyden to achieve the standards necessary for their GCSE PE. Having worked closely with many schools, I am now in a good position locally where I may be able to help  source funding to help with PE and other activities within schools.

Corporate sessions have also been hugely successful. I took 6 novice riders from Ford at Dunton; and in 3 weekly sessions I had most of them riding around the Olympic circuit.

I can offer: 1-2-1 coaching, group sessions, kids sessions, birthday parties, corporate sessions, team building exercises, family sessions or just teach you how to ride a bike from scratch.
