Hadleigh Park offers a wide range of activities specifically designed to meet National Curriculum subjects.
We are proud to offer our own unique replica Iron Age Roundhouse as an educational venue for schools studying historical periods from the Stone Age through to the Roman invasion of Britain. We can tailor our activities to suit any age group and to meet a variety of learning requirements. The roundhouse also serves as a shelter in the event of poor weather. Environmental education makes the most of the main park and its fantastic habitats.
Step back in time and experience the daily life of the Ancient Britons during the Roman invasion and Boudica’s revolt. Pupil’s will use all of their senses and fire up their imagination to explore history in a fun and interactive way. An archaeological dig of the Chieftain’s grave revealing the secrets within, warrior training or meeting a Roman soldier will have everyone keen to learn more about our amazing past.
You could spend a day focusing on the Roman invasion of Britain, choose to concentrate solely on the Iron Age, or opt to compare the lifestyle and technology of the Iron Age to the preceding Bronze and Stone Ages. You are welcome to choose a ready-made itinerary or pick and mix from a variety of activities and themes that would better suit your teaching needs. Here are some example itineraries:
